I remember when Desert Storm happened, CNN was on at our house, 24/7. I was in middle school or so, I wanted to watch MTV.

I was convinced everything was black and white until color TV was invented. Dad thought it was hilarious

Just heard on the radio this morning that some people thought "Afternoon Delight" by the Starland Vocal Band was about ice cream

Re: Things You Completely Didn't Understand As a Child
I remember as a kid thinking if I looked into a tv peripherally I would see the entire smurf village. I also thought I had instant DVR service in the early 1980's and I'd be so angry the TV program I was watching didn't pause when I turned it off. -

About half the jokes in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, Teen Wolf, and all those 80's John Hughes movies.

I used to think that every police car I saw was Rosco P. Coaltrane.
My mom used to watch the newlywed game and I thought making whoopie was running around the house screaming.

I remember my wife (girlfriend then) complaining that General Hospital was interrupted for days because of the assassination attempt. Then someone tried to kill the Pope two months later, and it started all over again.

And make her do the birds and bees talk but I decided I didn't really want to sit through that. Your mom wanted to put you on birth control two weeks after your first date?
