I feel that putting it in the gaming forum would make it even more of a butt buddy love fest. Not exactly a level playing field...but maybe let the mods decide?

Those in the tournament that don't normally opt in to G/G forum would only have to do it for a couple weeks.

I think you could definitely make it a social group, too. Here's the upsides and downsides of each, and my personal recommendation:

Social group - upside is that you can have unlimited threads about this. I still may not understand the whole thing, but I'm guessing each "game" (competition) would need its own thread? That wouldn't be a problem in a social group, you could also have smack-talk threads, etc. Downside is that it doesn't show up when you do "new posts" or look at the forum, so people would specifically have to go to the Social Groups feature. This will likely receive less traffic.

Gaming threads - Upside - this shows up in "New Posts" but not on the front page, so you're getting more traffic than a social group. Downside - people may become ****** at a huge number of threads.

Whichever route you go, I'd probably put one thread about it in a "main" forum that shows up on the front page, and then just bump it with links whenever there's a new competition. This would make it pretty easy to use the Social Group, provided you made it public.

In honor of March Madness, we should have a bracket style poll set up for all the posters mentioned so far. Seeds can be determined by rep, credits, and total posts. Winner gets the title of Most Popular Poster on CycloneFanatic. In lieu of a trophy, coupons will be provided. My sleeper pick is WindmillErik. How about it, CW?
