I believe it's a real photo - I saw it on the news yesterday as well.
It's amazing, but I have a photo that's almost exactly like that from when I was a kid and we had a big blizzard. Our's, however, was from drifting. The total snow itself was like 15", but the wind piled about 5 feet of snow by our front door.

Op original pic is prob legit but its dumb. That's a egress basement door. There is steps behind it, a railing above the door, and a fence behind that. Fences and railings don't float. Meaning it filled the stairwell full, not piled UP the door.
Now the rest if the pics are amazing. Rows and rows of buildings make a great wind tunnel to pile snow up against said buildings.
