Why are women always on a diet?

From what i can tell, some women dont care to look good, they just want to hear that they look good. Had a girlfriend who told me she was getting fat, i told her to stop drinking pop. Bad choice.

I agree with the portion size thing. For a while when my wife and I would share meals, we would cut the meat down the middle, then she realized that i have 50 lbs on her and probably can have a larger portion than her.

But do we really want to be with women who don't take care of themselves? I have a buddy with a girlfriend who is nice yet every friday night she drinks a gallon of half and half in her white russians. he told me she has sever backne but doesn't care and says "oh well - at least they taste good". I understand personality is 95% of a relationship but how can you be with someone who doesn't care?

my wife always complains about her tummy being a little large. i told i am tired of hearing about if and if it bothers either do something about it or stop talking about it. i haven't hear a peep about it sense

people and women are generally lazy. just like i'm not capitalizing words, people don't like to work out. women have been pampered for centuries because of the slit between their legs and the fat on their chests. i don't blame them for being lazy, but don't complain when we don't like what you're selling anymore if you're not willing to fight to keep it's value.

For women, from the time you are 10 years old, every "positive" media/cultural image of another woman is a photoshopped beauty. If you're really lucky, you get comments from male relatives on your weight when you're already sensitive about it. In the same way that boys are told conditioned to be tough and hide their emotions, girls are taught that their (skinny) looks are their major asset. Of course we know that all those pictures are massively retouched, but that's pretty quickly forgotten when you see everyone drooling over the latest Sports Illustrated cover/Victoria's Secret ad, etc. and a thousand other images beating into you that impossible standard of "beauty".

And when your body is biologically designed to gain fat instead of muscle, it ******* sucks. I work out probably 40% more than my husband, yet guess who quickly and easily loses higher percentages? Talk about a motivation killer for a lot of women.

It's not because women are inherently lazy or due to years of "pampering" due to their body parts - that is likely one of the most asinine things I've read - and that's saying a lot. There are just as many fat, lazy men - but it's called "husky", "big-boned", or "stocky". A lot of people don't like to exercise, so to try to make this simply a female problem is ridiculous. I saw (and not trying to point fingers) Miranda Lambert called the "fat Carrie Underwood" on this site. I would eat my socks if a similar comment were made about Jason Aldean's weight.

If you are only with someone because of their BMI, you better make damn sure you're maintaining the same high standards on your own body. I don't expect my husband to sit by and watch if I get to an unhealthy state, but I will kick him in the balls if he starts nagging me about a few extra lbs or complains about the lack of a flat stomach post-children.

Obviously this is a bit of a sore spot for me - but it sucks to see how young and hard we beat this message into young girls. Remember that with your own daughters/nieces/whatever and be good role models for them - imparting good eating/exercise habits and complementing them on their talents and intelligence.

And now excuse me while I eat all the delicious food in Vegas and don't work out the rest of the week

For all the women who complain about skinny women...there's a flip side to that. My wife has always been thin.

*full, politically incorrect disclosure here...I saw her and thought...you know, when she has a couple of kids and gains that weight, she's going to be perfect...that's marrying material*

She's just as self conscious about it as the girls with a little junk in the trunk. I used to try and tell her that 95% of women would kill to have her body...realized it didn't do anything. Also realized it wasn't worth fighting, so I just tell her what I think of her, which would get me a little timeout from the mods, so I'll keep it to myself.

What am I trying to say here? Y'all put in on yourselves. I guarantee that no matter what you look like, there's probably a guy out there who thinks you're the best thing in the world.

Is my wife Kate Upton? No. Do I enjoy viewing pictures of Kate Upton in a bikini? Yes, yes I do. Would I trade my wife for Kate Upton? Not a ******* chance.

All you women claiming that 'our culture' drives this behavior? That might be true, but only because you, as women, collectively buy into it. You stop, it stops.

As for me, I have the farm kid type background, so I constantly amaze my wife with my ability to go very long stretches without eating when I have **** to do, and then sit down and eat a bag of chips as a snack when I am not busy...just in case I'm busy later.

As I've gotten older and my metabolism slows down, I've learned to harness the first part more often than the second part.

For the record, last wellness plan check, I was dead center of ideal weight, but I've pushed borderline obese in the past. So, by american standards, I'm probably skinny, I guess, but only by making a decision to keep my weight in check.
