I've had several Dells and this is the first one that was not operable after setting it up.

On a positive note, I took a 4 year old macbook pro into the apple store as the display wasn't working. Had it sent for $240 or so to get anything on it that was broken fixed, they replace some things and had it back 2 days later.

Every single Dell that I've bought has worked flawlessly right out of the box. I've had four of them now and never had a problem with any of them. I only replaced them to upgrade the performance, operating system and hardware, etc.

I am unwilling to sell it or give it away because I don't wish to put anyone else through the frustration, disappointment and false expectations I have been through.

Why not just throw it away then?

The worst part of all this is there is literally one warranty service repair shop in all of Houston. One! All major brands.

Three or four times been there. Always told me they fixed it and tested it. Didn't work once.

I think I'll try that yelling into a pillow thing now.

You're right, I think I have been very lucky. I've probably pushed my luck way too far so that the last computer that I bought will probably be my last new one. I'll just upgrade it and repair it from now on.

I'm trying to get my post count up to 2999 and I'm almost there. I'll then make a special 3000th post and then I want to see what happens to the credits.
