Just read this article and it seems to indicate the track of the storm may be more focused on the Dakotas: NWS: 'Everybody will see some kind of snow' | Local News - KCCI Home -

Well, all agree except the GEM (Canadian). I don't really pay that one much attention. It's calling for a couple feet along/south I-80. Maybe that's why I ignore it.

Re: Very Early 2/21 Weather Thread
12Z GFS is calling for 9.8 inches of snow. The "Earl map" is showing 11" but that is not adjusted for compaction.
Here is why I'm not buying it yet:
Of that 9.8 inches of snow, the GFS is calling for 7.3" to fall from 9am to Noon on Thursday.
7.3" in three hours.
Impossible? No. Just not sure I want to jump into that end of the pool yet.

Really? Way to go out on a limb on that one!! Wouldn't you love to have a job like that?
"When will the project be completed and what will it cost?"
"It could be done in a week or by the end of the year, and will cost somewhere between $300 and $300,000.
"OK. Good job!"

"OK. Good job!" Apples to Oranges. You're talking absolutes with a 'project'. There are no absolutes with weather. Originally Posted by clonedude Wow, that's the worst weather prediction I've ever seen.

Really? Way to go out on a limb on that one!! This storm is still 4 1/2 days out. WAYtoo early to be talking about specific amounts, hence why you aren't getting any answers on that yet. "Science is a wonderful thing if one does not have to earn one's living at it." -- Albert Einstein -

"OK. Good job!" If you prefer, we could eliminate weather forecasting. Personally, I will gladly take the information provided by meteorologists, knowing they have limitations based on the continually evolving, and improving, science of weather forecasting.

Do you think they might have to end up cancelling this concert? The only way the concert gets cancelled is if they cant make it in. That tour had a show last night, and its next show is in Ames. Im assuming they will get here OK. The next night is Champaign could be a problem though.
