I put on white socks this morning thinking I would wear sneakers but then decided to wear dress shoes but I didn't change socks. Nobody has noticed so far. Today's friday confession thread is weird.
Gotta Knock a Little Harder - Mai Yamane
Tank - The Seatbelts
Diggin - The Seatbelts
Oh wow, so many David Bowie songs are coming to mind..."Secret Life of Arabia", "Breaking Glass", "TVC15", "DJ", "Ashes to Ashes". The entire Parliament Mothership Connection album. "Birthday" by the Beatles and "My Old School" by Steely Dan. "No Compassion" by the Talking Heads. A lot of Daft Punk songs.
You know what I'm realizing? Most of the music I listen to is cool.
"Slow Show" - The National
"Big Poppa" - Notorious BIG
"Fell In Love With a Girl" - White Stripes
Pretty much anything by Jimi. Listening to "Machine Gun" currently.
First ones that popped into my head are Doorbell by the White Stripes and Son of a Preacher Man by Dusty Springfield.
Bill Withers - Use Me
Buttery smooth cool right here.
Might be a good theme for next Friday, songs that are forever linked to some scene or event regardless of how obscure or unremarkable the event might have been. There are a number of songs that always remind me of a certain moment.
Sweet Thursday - Matt Costa
For a song full of vague Steinbeck references, it's uber-cool. It reminds me of road tripping to California for a weekend on the beach.
Heard this on the radio last week and can't get it out of my head
Rehab - Bartender (Sittin at a bar) w/ Lyrics (Explicit Version) - YouTube
