My boss had to buy a mailbox - and then deal with the cement/posthole digging or whatever it is. That was her unexpected thing. That, shower curtains, and blinds.

Something like "comes with awesome bigscreen TVs and own butler who can monitor everyone's cell-phone calls in the city". I didn't have much time to think it over.

And in summary to what everyone is saying, you will need money, and lots of it. I cant think back to the last weekend I didn't make at least one stop into the hardware store. Maybe have a complete sump pump w/ battery backup.
