Not afraid to admit it...and it will indicate my age somewhat as I grew up in the 70s/80s...3 come to mind: Saturday Night Fever & The Blues Brothers soundtracks are difficult to top! And Grease has to be included as well...

I didn't really get introduced to either until the 90s, but they're both very good.
Now, Staying Alive is a whole different story.

Now, Staying Alive is a whole different story. I did not watch Saturday Night Fever until the 90s and became fascinated with it! Great story about urban life in the 70s when urban areas were dying and kids wanted out! It wasn't "cool" to live in the city like it is today.
And as for Staying Alive...bad bad bad! Took me a long time to realize that the blond dancer in that movie is the same dancer in Dirty Dancing (which also has a great soundtrack)!

For me my all time favorite is the Dead Man Walking soundtrack. Still blows me away every time I listen to it.
