The neighboring town who was our big rival used to have a huge bonfire the night before (Thursday) their homecoming football game. This guy went over and lit the bonfire on late Wednesday night. Caused a huge uproar - fire department and everything. The incident was always suspected to be the work of another local guy who drove the same model car.
About 50 years later the guy who started the fire actually told the real story.
