Alright thanks to all those that have weighed in or PM'd me. I appreciate it. The surgery went well although they said the actual rupture was a little more "tore up" than they expected. So it's crutches and boot for 7 days, then we'll evaluate. I'm anxious to get into PT, so any thoughts on when I should be expecting that are appreciated. I don't want to go too fast but also know that there seems to be a wide range in views by doctors on the value of PT.
Just remember that even though it hurts like a you-know-what to stretch as much as the PT person says. It sucks now but after everything is healed you will forget about it and get back to normal. If you don't stretch or slack off, you will have lingering effects the rest of your life.
Oh I will stretch. I follow my PT's advice to a T. I learned the hard way. I had some back issues years ago. I horsed around for about a year doing my PT half assed. She finally said, look I love the fact that you like coming to see me, and I don't mind taking your business but if you don't shape up we'll be seeing each other forever. I shaped up, and was out of there in like a month.
