    Re: Best Buy

On the topic of extended warranty, BB convinced me (and it took awhile) to go with the warranty on my Toshiba tv. Thank God I did cuz it went down twice in a year and a half. I still hate extended warranties but with quality of products on a sharp decline it's something you actually have to give a little extra thought to just to protect yourself (strictly speaking high dollar items).

Totally agree with everyone on Monster cables being overated and DEFINITELY overpriced.

As for prices, I just bought a blue ray Sony dvd player from Target yesterday for $269. Same dvd player was $400 at BB so definitely shop around before you buy at BB.

Ha ha, that's funny. Did you mean Acoustimass? and did you do any research before purchasing? The reviews online don't support your statement. I challenge anyone to show you how you could have saved a ton of money and had a better home theater system.

ps - The same goes for your bose wave radio. You could/should have bought a henry kloss model 88 and paid much less and had better quality. If you think Bose and Monster make a quality product, then I have some land down in Florida that I would like to sell you!

I work at best buy and I like it just fine tyvm. After working at target for over a year it was like finding the promised land. You have no idea what working at target is like.... although I do hate the people who come into the store who know nothing at all about what they are buying and can barely speak english.

    Is that sarcasm????

I bought a laptop at Best Buy on a weekend. Happened to go in there a few days later during the week and saw that it was a couple of hundred dollars cheaper. Was really ****** off and got a refund of the amount. I think they up prices in the weekend and lower during the week. Don't know for sure but my one experience seemed like they do that.

    Re: Best Buy

I was at Best Buy a couple of weeks ago and see that they now sell Mac's. With the recent threads on here about Best Buy vs online purchasing sources and Mac's vs PC's I was wondering if anyone had advice about purchasing a Mac from Best Buy... are these built the same as the ones you can order directly from Apple online - the prices seem to be the same? Is there a cheaper source for a Mac? Thanks.

They're all going to be the same - and Apple has rules in their contracts that state the prices the computers and iPods have to be sold at, that's why you never seen the prices change. The only way retailers get around the rule is by bundling other goodies with the purchase to entice people to buy from them. If you go to MacMall.com - they're the biggest online Mac retailer apart from Apple.com. They usually have good discounts on older models (new but replaced by a newly announced version) and they usually throw in quite a few goodies.
A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

    Re: Best Buy

I don't shop there a whole lot but I like the store. The things that I have bought there are only video games and CDs. Those you can't tell a difference. But I would agree that the store is way over priced on some things. My sister bought a tv from target that was almost $80 more at Best Buy. I guess price shopping pays off.
