Is it me, or are the Late Night shows with Leno and Conan O'Brien better so far? They are being more personable and down to earth and are coming up with more of their own material. Involving the audience is a popular theme I've noticed. I think things like this would be a good permanent change to these shows even when the writers eventually return.
What does everyone else think?
From the little I've seen tonight, I think I would agree. These guys got to where they are by being funny. It is nice to see them show it.
I don't think it's something they'd be able to do for the long haul. Eventually they'll have to have writers. They've had 3 months to fiddle around writing jokes and such.
Conan is the best. He can make anything funny. He has proven that as a writer on The Simpsons.

I thought it was funny to see both David Letterman and Conan O'Brien sporting beards.
Conan coming out to correct the tour guides tonight was really good. :biglaugh:

I really like Conan. He can make me laugh out loud without really even telling a joke. He's fun to watch because even he knows some of the stuff he comes up with is really dumb but it's still funny and he can make it funny even if it isn't! Leno is usually pretty good too. Never really did care for Letterman. I find it harder for him to make me laugh.
Who has time to watch late night shows with bowl games going till 11:30 anymore?

He has that Dane Cook presentation "quality" about him that most of you seem to like. Once it gets down to the material, however, there is really nothing funny about it. For the record, Dane Cook is far more of a schmuck than Conan O'Brien.
For my money, Letterman takes it.
I've never found Leno to be funny, I don't think I've ever actually laughed during any of his monologues. Dave and conan however, I have.

Amen to that. I also miss "To ________, with love". Five Questions was awesome to see guests get put on the spot, especially if they got a Kathy Ireland 1 out of 5. Yambo was appointment television. I wonder if any of that stuff is on Youtube? Takes me back to my college days....Quote:
