Explorer crashes frequently - Anyone Else
I just got a new Dell laptop running XP Pro with SP2. I've done all updates that are available. Yet a couple times a day, explorer bombs out and asks If I want to send an error report. I've done a full un-install and re-install of Explorer but it didn't change anything.
Anyone else have this issue?

That's odd.
Switch to Firefox. :)

Re: Explorer crashes frequently - Anyone Else
goto the control panel, then to administrative tools, then to the event viewer look under the system, Internet explorer, and application logs and post the errors you are getting from there and I might be able to tell you whats going on

hehehe. Get firefox.
Although it's probably Vista's patented "we're going to crash all your useful software" feature.

Although, I was in the same boat until I showed by boss how much faster and more stable Firefox was.
I still have to use IE for some things. -

I still have to use IE for some things. I would use Firefox more, but it really pooches Outlook Web Access.

Re: Explorer crashes frequently - Anyone Else
Firefox uses too much memory. I hope they get it fixed in 3.

Re: Explorer crashes frequently - Anyone Else
According to microsoft. Event ID:1000 is a DNS issue.
From a earlier today post you said you have comcast.
What you want to do is call comcast, ask them what the DNS servers are. Write down the addresses, then goto the control panel then to network connections then right click on the network connections you are using and goto properties. Once there find TCP/IP, and goto properties for it. Once there there will be a area for you to define a IP address and a area to define your DNS servers.
Put the 2 DNS servers comcast gave you into 2 spaces provided and see if that fixes your problem.
