This was one of his last posts on that message board:
M5froth I completley understand where you are coming from assuming that I am irresponsible..that is definetly understandable. I do sometimes make bad decisions but I am young and I do drive safe and I will not endanger the lives of others..
Another persons post before the 18 year olds last post:
I would be much prefer an 18 year old with brains to have an M5 rather than spend his moeny on some other piece of junk that could kill him and his mates in an accident.
Reminds me of that high school kid from Iowa whose dad bought him a Viper. I believe he hit a pole killing his passenger. Lots of horsepower and lack of experience is bad bad combo.

Exactly. This is why every kid should start off with their grandma's old Oldsmobile like I did. Yes, it can get fast enough to kill you, but why would you try and show it off?
I spent last summer in Scottsdale Arizona as a valet. I can't tell you how many high schoolers there are down there with $30-70k cars that can easily do 120+ mph. And they quite simply do not have the driving experience needed to safely pilot a vehicle with those capabilities. That's also not taking into account whether maxing out your car on an airstrip is a smart idea or not. I will admit I've gone 130 on a back road at night...and I am never doing it again. This is just too bad.
That is unbelievable. That car is just a shredded mess, article I found said they had just left a party, so the title should probably be Alcohol + 18 Yr. Old + 500 HP Car = Death, which obviously just makes things worse, and means someone will probably be in a lot of trouble for providing alcohol to minors.
MANY airports around the country are uncontrolled and completely un-monitored at night. In fact, many more airports are un-controlled than those that are.
