I like the movie of "The Great Gatsby". Apparently the book is supposed to be good.

Yes! I've been through several versions of this. I enjoy a little intellectual stimulation when I'm answering the #2 call of nature.

I always liked Shakespeae. He was a clever writer. Another favorite of mine was James Fenimore Cooper. Did anyone read Kenneth Roberts Northwest passage or Garirison Keiller Lake Woebegon Days.

As far as Superman Comics went, sign me up for the Bizarro and Supergirl stories.

Next, to keep the anti treadmill thread going.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.

Weak man. I've yet to find a case where the movie is better than the book.

Well I've never read the book, so I wasn't comparing them.

I would say that Field of Dreams may eclipse the book Shoeless Joe on which it is based. As a general rule, you are correct.

    Animal Farm- George Orwell
    It- Stephen King
    Watership Down- Richard Adams
The Lord of the Rings- JRR Tolkien
The Iliad and The Odyssey- Homer

English major (lit) here, too. "The Catcher in the Rye" is probably my favorite book of all time - I've read it about 25 times? Love all of Salinger's stuff - also a HUGE Vonnegut fan (R.I.P.).

For you "Catcher in the Rye" fans...there is a new book out called "Spud" that is billed the "new Catcher in the Rye". It's set in South Africa in the 90's and is pretty hilarious.
