Bradbury's "Something Wicked This Way Comes" is one of my faves. The movie sucked but the book is great.
Oh wow a favorite of his short stories is hard to pick, mmmmm maybe The October Country but it doesn't even have to of my favorite individual stories: A Sound of Thunder or The Foghorn in it.
Speaking of another good author, anyone a fan of Issac Asimov?
Ahh, some great books! Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is going to be my favorite today, but I've noticed every time I'm asked what my favorite book is, I choose something different. For instance last week in my fiction writing class I chose East of Eden, and in another lit class I chose Midnight's Children.
So what, we only have a bazillion more pages to go before we beat the Treadmill thread, right?
Short stories--my all time favorite is "Pet Milk." It's only two or three pages long but it's one of the most sincere, personal stories I've ever read. Another would certainly be "The Pedestrian" by Ray Bradbury.
