    Re: Iowan on American Idol

LEO!!! haha - i know this guy. Must say i'm not an avid follower of american idol, but it's nice to see leo on tv! Some of you guys might be familiar with Celebration Iowa, which used to be the Iowa State Fair Singers. It's a touring show choir and jazz band sponsored by Luther College and many others that puts on 30-40 shows each summer all over iowa. I was a singer/dancer in 2002, as was Leo. NOW that you know my life story - i just thought i'd post all that so you can all have an idea about this home-grown iowan talent. haha :-)

A good friend of mine knows this guy, apparently. She didn't know he was trying out, but freaked out when she saw him.

    Re: Iowan on American Idol

He was good. I thought he had a very "john legend" kind of voice.

I like how was very down to earth and didn't come in saying "you are about to be amazed" like some of these people.

    Re: Iowan on American Idol

I worked with a kid who tried out in Omaha. He said he waited in line almost 5 hours and he was given around five seconds to sing (not a surprise) before he was buzzed off.

As for Council Bluffs... I'm not from there but theres nothing about it I haven't seen anywhere else. In fact, the Omaha metro area has really invested alot into making itself a nice city by establishing venues and culture, including Council Bluffs. Something I wish Des Moines would do more of.

    Re: Iowan on American Idol

That kid definitely bats for the other team (NTTAWWT). He's got a great voice - good for him!
