New Vegas Trip

We just started talking today about planning our trip out to LV for the UNLV football game in Sept. We havent been out there since Thanksgiving 06, and im getting the shakes.

Out of all those places you named, i stay at Paris. Too bad it caught on fire, but the Monte Carlo was a great place to stay at on that side of the strip. Awesome brew-pub on the lower level, and with easy walking distance of MGM, NYNY/ESPNZone, and most anything else on that side of the strip.

Weve gone to Caesers almost everytime for the Forum shops. Last time I met Pete Rose and got an autographed baseball. The first time we went to LV we were wondering around there and it took me second to realize i was within arms grasp of Paris Hilton. Awesome shopping, if you wanna spend some money on designer crap. Dont take your wife/girlfriend!!!

Stay at Belagio if you can get decent rates. Your travel agent should be able to get the smallest rooms at less than $100. The pools are the best, but drinks are pretty expensive. Don't be surprised at the "normal" prices, they are crazy high.

Why would anyone that has access to the internet ever use a travel agent?

The Mirage was very nice. And I stayed there while it was undergoing some construction. The pool is great. The pool at NYNY has limited sun time because of the "skyscrapers". Now if your going to do it big... the Wynn.

Yeah, lasvegas.com always has deals, dont know how good they are though.

And if you go, use restaurant.com, last time we got $25 gift certificates for $3 to places all over town.

We got a great deal out of the Minneapolis airport with Sun Country and stayed at the Belagio a lot cheaper than we could through the web. I don't know how they did it but we got a great deal. I can't remember how much we spent on air fare but the rooms were dirt cheap.

New York New York is my favorite place to stay. Has alot of variety. Check out the Mexican restaurant and get the chicken quesadilla (boring I know). If you aren't satisfied with the food, I will pay your bill. Also, be careful of the pool situation. Alot of pools are closed until late March into April.

Your right about the pools. Just because its warm to us, doesnt mean it s warm to them. Locals dont like to go out if its 50 or so degrees.

Uh, locals also don't stay at the hotels either. The highs around this time of year are 50-60 degrees, not a fun "swimming pool" temperature.

Locals run the hotels or work at the hotels. 60 is good swimming weather, if there is a heated pool. :yes:

Some updates.

We booked a block of rooms at the Hooters, mainly because it was about $50 a night, plus we will barely be in our rooms the whole weekend, they allowed us to get a bunch of rooms together, it's there on the corner of LV and Flamingo, and they have a nice, heated pool. This will also give us alot more fun money to gamble, see shows, and go to some clubs. Which brings me to my next question for the group.

Has anyone ever pre-booked 'front of line' passes or VIP passes for clubs?

Oh, and we will be there in May, ave high 91 low 55.

Haven't ever booked them but from the looks of the lines at the clubs on a weekend, I would encourage it. I never went to the clubs much because the cover was a rip off and then the cost of a drink was even more of a rip off. Might as well have some fun gambling away that money instead. To each his own.
