Re: Rebate Checks Question?
I'm planning on using mine for my trip to Jamaica this summer. That's not exactly what they had in mind for what to spend on huh...

I'm sure you'll be supporting the US economy in some way... how are you getting there? Probably an American flight.

Heck, the way things are going, foreign tourists may qualify for these rebate checks when all is said and done... Actually it seems the Senate is going to make it so those that work but don't make enough money to have to pay income tax will get one too, and they are still debating the top threshold level of the maximum amount you can make to get one. Considering this is supposed to be an economic stimulus package, it makes perfect sense to get it to the lower income workers who spend it immediately to stimulate the economy.
Just as long as I get my cash I don't care what people they give it to, I'd rather the gov't spent my money on American people rather than the other alternatives.

I hate the idea of this whole thing, how about taking all the money and paying down some debt, or balacing the budget a little. This is just a horrible idea. We are basically taking a cash advance on the national credit card, and we are all going to have to pay this back later WITH interest.

Good deal for me because we just had another kid Nov. 1, 2007. So if it all works out an extra $300 in my pocket for having that child for only 1/6th of 2007.

Re: Rebate Checks Question?
Since the government has not even passed this yet, and does not look to pass it in the near future, I would think we would not see anything until fall.

Re: Rebate Checks Question?
