"Rehab"
Is there seriously not a better song than this song by Amy Winehouse? The VISA thing aside, who the heck votes for these things and how was that song even nominated? This is why I hate mainstream radio and most mainstream music.
Remember that stressed spelled backwards is desserts!

Re: "Rehab"
The ONLY reason we're talking about Skanky Winehouse is because her entrance visa issues. Which were completely and utterly her fault. I heard the song today for the first time, and thought "Geez - what is this crap?"
The music industry just keeps reaching farther and farther down into their bag to generate interest. Here's to BMI going the way of the dinosaur.

Re: "Rehab"
Agree - If you listen to oldies you'll hear stuff that sounds just like Winehouse but better. If she wasn't a total trainwreck you wouldn't hear as much about her.

Re: "Rehab"
I would love some recommendations of older music that has some hint of the Amy Winehouse sound. A couple of her songs, I find pretty good, but I know that some of the older music is much better.
Any recs would be appreciated!

Re: "Rehab"
I'd contend that "Love Song" by Sara Bareilles is one of the best out right now.
Can't get enough of that song...quite delicious. Especially from a cute brunette. :)

Re: "Rehab"
Amy Winhouse's Back to Black CD is actually quite good - it is a nice throwback to an older generation of music.

Re: "Rehab"
I think she's downright terrible. Why is it that crappy music gets national pub. when hundreds of awesome local bands never get the chance.

Exactly! I think she is a turd and her music is fair to subpar.

Re: "Rehab"
I think she's terrible too - and her performance last night.... was she on a horse tranquilizer? Did they perform electro-shock therapy while she WAS in rehab? I was worried she wasn't going to put two words together during her "thank you" speech. Sorry Amy - your 15 mins are up, and they weren't that great anyway!

Re: "Rehab"
I'm on-board with those who enjoy her music. I randomly saw her on VH1 and thought "wow, that girl's got some issues" but never found out her name. Then, saw her on the cover of rolling stone, checked her out, and enjoyed. I don't pay attention to pop-radio or any of the news surrounding it...so, I guess I don't experience the overflow of information about her personal life and/or overplaying her music.

Probably.
It's not that I think the song is overplayed, I've probably only it a handful of times, I just think her sound is god awful.

Re: "Rehab"
I like Amy Whinehouse, its the music not the person. My wife hates her and therefore hates the her music. Its definetly not a mainstream thing or Herbie Hancock wouldnt have won album of the year!
