Good, now I have another piece of ammunition to convince my wife to let me get a PS3.

Re: Blu-Ray Vs. HD DVD
About 3 months ago there were several consumer reports out there that said Blu Ray was going to capture this market. If you want HD for your movies and players, better go Blu Ray, because it is the way... I just can't find the articles right now... i'm sure some searching through google with some time would find them.

Re: Blu-Ray Vs. HD DVD
Awesome, I was a little worried for a bit there. I hope this means the price will drop now. 25/30 bucks for a dvd....damn!

Re: Blu-Ray Vs. HD DVD
Well hopefully the newer models will allow HD-DVD compat otherwise there will be alot of ****** off people.

Re: Blu-Ray Vs. HD DVD
I bought the HD attachment to my 360, but I only bought five HD-DVD's, so I don't feel too bad, but it still sucks. -

A lot of stores are just pulling the format off their shelves, as it's not worth their trouble or hassle (especially when people start to get ****** off)...
Also, in regards to the price mentioned above - you will see somewhat of a drop in equipment, I'm sure over some time (not soon though), but I'd almost guarantee the price of the movies will not come down. Starting prices for new releases will all be around that $30, with much older movies being reduced, as they currently do with regular DVD.

Re: Blu-Ray Vs. HD DVD
The do make dual HD/BluRay players, but I think they cost significantly more than a single format player. Maybe the price will come down now that BluRay looks like the winner.

If you have a player and media you are fine, but if you don't have both there will be nothing for you.
It would probably be cheaper to just buy a BluRay and have two players.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, nothing controls the direction of our economy like Disney and porn
Imagine if the two became one
.....sorry, I'll burn for this one

I read this morning that Toshiba is set to announce that they will be dropping production of HD-DVD players and going Blu-Ray.

.....sorry, I'll burn for this one I think it would be like that episode of family guy where they had Walt drawing Minnie mouse and telling her to take her clothes off. "Do I have to?"

Re: Blu-Ray Vs. HD DVD
My hope would be that through a firmware upgrade, Toshiba would be able to convert their hd dvd players to blu-ray players. I have an HD-A2, and despite that it only puts out 1080i, I imagine that it meets the Blu-ray spec everywhere else.
