Who does the media love the most....and by media, it can be anything that covers a team.


The idea is that you vote once for EACH sport.

It's a tough call between the Yankees and Duke. You hear about the Yankees all year round, and I'm sick of it.


They need a smile that is gagging or about to puke.

I'm sick of hearing about Yankees/Sox rivalry and the Duke/UNC rivalry. I refuse to watch either one just because of the hype. I've even skipped the MLB playoff games because I hate them so much.

I think the Duke thing has cooled off a bit... They went absolutely overboard with it when they hyped the Duke v. UNC rivalry and had the game on every channel. I think the chilly reception on that idea caused them to back off...

Cowboys. Every NFL pregame show turns into a Dallas Cowboy pep rally. It seems they interview Jerry Jones every week.

Yankees by far... During the season they start out every single sportscenter with details and highlights about the yankees. All I do is moan and switch the channel.

Yankees easily, but Boston is almost caught up. The fact that when they play a weekend series (Fri - Sun) EVERY game is nationally televised. And the two teams got as many if not more media coverage for NOT getting Santana than NYM did FOR getting him.
Duke I'm glad to see was a landslide. UNC only gets it when they're in the top 10 - Duke gets it no matter what. They're the Yankees of college basketball. And just so you all know - Duke has the most televised games this year, followed by UNC, and Kansas which has 2 less than UNC.
NFL = Cowboys. Hands down. Patriots may have this past season, but the Cowboys and their self annointed "America's Team" B.S. is always covered. Ugh...
Notre Dame easily for CFB. I know it, even if you look at my avatar. I'm not oblivious to it. They inspire national reaction on the stage of NYY and Duke... love and hate. They're the only college team in any sport to have their own TV contract, and no matter if they're 3-9 or coming off back to back BCS appearances, they're always at the top of college football discussion topics, somehow. (But I still love 'em ;))
The NBA was tough... do they really get tons of media coverage? I'd put Cleveland on there purely for Lebron James and the media's obsession with him. Kobe gives the edge to the Lakers in the 3 team vote, but i'd tie them with Cleveland. It seems Cleveland is on Sunday hoops every week. The NBA seems to get more individual media coverage rather than team media coverage.

(Sidebar - I know I used television in all of my examples... it's just the way I went through it, but print media and digital media pretty much is the same as tv media)

I think I figured out the yankees were on ESPN like 50+ times last year and the Twins were on maybe 10 or less. Most were because they were playing NYY or BOS

You people are crazy. At least the Pats and Duke live up to the hype most of the time, and, relatively speaking, so do the Yankees and the Red Sox.

That said, NOTRE DAME is by far the most media-loved-for-nothing team in the nation. I know they have the history, but they have done NOTHING lately.
