Re: Forbes: America's 10 most miserable cities

I would love to see where either Davenport or Rock Island, IL ranks on the overall list...

Re: Forbes: America's 10 most miserable cities

Not really, but I've lived (and worked) in Chicago. Not the worst big town in America, but the commute sucks. There's a Chicago corruption factor that is nearly epic. $2000 to install a new junction box BEFORE actually paying for the "legitimate" costs. If Chicago ate nails, it'd poop screws, they're so flippin' crooked, there.

Otherwise, it doesn't come CLOSE to the real craphole in the US, the District of Columbia. I didn't live there, but I drove in from the suburbs to work.

Two other cities I've worked in or near are worse than any of the listed cities: Chicago Heights, Illinois and Lake City, Florida.

Re: Forbes: America's 10 most miserable cities

I've lived in quite a few large cities myself. Quite frankly I never want to live in another city again or for that matter even in a town.

I prefer living where I don't have to fence my property, don't have to chain my dogs, and can target shoot in my yard. There's not too many cities or towns (none) where you're allowed to do those things.
