Re: Forbes: America's 10 most miserable cities
Yes I live in one of the worst cities in America. Awesome!!!! Why would it be bad to live in Chicago if the Cubs are there. Shouldn't that just automatically make it a good place to live?

surprised to see Chicago ahead of LA, and surprised to see Charlotte on there at all.

Chicago is an awful place to live. I'm sure I'll get ripped for saying that, but NOTHING about that city appeals to me.

I can't think of one bad thing about Chicago... Well maybe the weather, but it's the same as ours...

Have you seen the Cubs play lately? How many years since their last World Series title?

Also, New Orleans. I don't know how what's left of that city didn't make it on the list. Actually pretty much the entire state of Mississippi should probably be on there too.

Re: Forbes: America's 10 most miserable cities
Boys let's not bicker. As I have lived in the suberbs of the number one ranked most miserable city in the U.S. for 34 years, I can attest to the ranking criteria. Worse, the mayor of Detroit has just been caught lying under oath and claims that the media are the problem. My wife's father had the solution; nuke the place and start over. I'd kinda hate to lose the Red Wings, Tigers, and Pistons but the rest is already history.

And another thing...
...Chicago, LA, NY, etc, are all huge. There are areas/places in each that are nice to be in and others that are not.
Des Moines is the same way. I wouldn't want Des Moines to be judged on the merits of the south side of Des Moines. Or the east side. Or the Drake area...

They have the correct #1. I had to work a project in Detroit for 6 MONTHS one time. There isn't enough booze in the whole world to cure that pain.

I'm sure Phaedrus has lived in almost every city, town, or village in America during his many adventures. He could probably be a good tour guide.
