CF: Greatest Sports Movies (Date Night) 1st rd

I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone.

If this is the Date sports movies.... Then 8 seconds hands down should be kicking the crap out of White Men Can't Jump.

Guess we have a bunch of city folk here who haven't seen that. Or haven't watched it with a female. Or have no clue who Lane Frost was.

I agree. Has no one here seen Breaking Away? It's an absolute classic! Tin Cup isn't a bad movie, but it can't hold Breaking Away's jock strap, in my opinion.

Agreed with that. 8 seconds is one of the best date movies. But I guess if you haven't seen it then you wouldn't know that.

You're making me feel bad that I voted for White Men Can't Jump. I actually loved 8 Seconds. Thought it was a really good movie based on a fascinating (and tragic) true story. I picked White Men Can't Jump because it seems to have had a bit more staying power and broader appeal. 8 Seconds seemed to have catered to a bit more of a niche audience (rodeo fans). In retrospect, I wish I could change my vote.

I agree. It's sad to see that, even though I love Tin Cup. They are one of my Cinderella teams.
