Moment of Truth: The show that ruins lives
I watched this clip from this show where people are hooked up to a lie detector and asked questions. This episode probably ruined a marriage and this girl will never get hired again. Ouch. New York Magazine -

Yeah, sometimes I wonder why these shows even come about. Its amazing how we viewers get off on watching the lives of others ruined. I wonder how much is staged and how much these folks get paid to be humiliated if its all real.

The question is, if you know you've done some terrible things and have some very dirty laundry, why the hell would you go on that show?!?!?!

Re: Moment of Truth: The show that ruins lives
Personally I've seen a couple episodes and there have been some embarrassing moments and a couple question raisers in the relationships but nothing too terrible that I've seen.

I wonder if a lot of that stuff is staged though... I watched it that other night and it seemed a little bit over the top. The questions were absolutely crazy.

If you watched the one on Monday, it was horrible. The host even had a disclaimer at the beginning of the show saying how he didn't want that episode to air because he thought it crossed too many lines.
The girl destroyed her marriage, walked away with low self-esteem, and with no money.
It was hard to watch.

It was hard to watch. I watched the same one. If all of that was real, she ruined her entire life.

It was hard to watch. With all of that said...you still watched-which is why these shows survive.

They obviously know what questions are going to be asked so if there was really something you didn't like, don't agree to go on air!

She ruined her life before she went on the show. THe show just warped speeded her down fall and I don't know if speeded is even a word.

A short recap of the show the other night. I didn't see it but all the old ladies around me were talking about it.

Re: Moment of Truth: The show that ruins lives
I refuse to watch the show - I don't consider watching people ruin their lives and bring their family/friends down in the process in hopes of trying to score some $$$ as entertainment. This show is pretty much offensive to me.
