Counting Vehicles in the ditch
I'm riding down I-80 at the moment, and the road conditions aren't the greatest.
So far we've counted 6 vehicles in the ditch, and 4 of them are 4x4s. Just saw a Durango high centered.
Does it give anyone else satisfaction to see idiots who are driving way too fast for conditions end up in the ditch?

Don't get too cocky you might end up there some day just because one of those idiots was in the wrong place the same time you were.

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative. ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other." -
Re: Counting Vehicles in the ditch
They showed a video on CNN this morning from somewhere in the southeast that had gotten a few inches of snow over night. In the video, an SUV comes upon a turn on a 4 lane highway going about 70 miles an hour. Keep in mind, by our (Iowan's) standards, these roads are clear but certainly not enough to go that fast. Well, the driver slides out of control and smashes his back end into the guardrail. Gotta love the people who aren't experienced in driving in winter or think their vehicle is invincible.

Does it give anyone else satisfaction to see idiots who are driving way too fast for conditions end up in the ditch? How are you driving and typing at the same time? You'll end up in the same place. What ever happened to truth, justice and the American Way? -

4 wheel drive doesn't mean 4 wheel stop

Great I've got to drive to Knoxville tonight. Those roads always suck.

I'm sitting in the passenger seat on my laptop via my cell phone. Girlfriend is driving.
Just saw another one. Ford Explorer with a female driver and a huge Hawkeye logo on the back. Though it may not have been a 4x4, my guess is that it was.

Re: Counting Vehicles in the ditch
I remember while I was still going to ISU about 5 years ago I was driving back up to Ames in a snowstorm. A brand new red Mustang goes flying by me going way too fast, especially him being in a RWD. I was thinking "what a freakin' dolt - driving a Mustang that fast in this weather." Sure enough, 5 miles down the road I passed the Mustang, which was now stuck in the median.

I've commuted between Ames and Des Moines for a few years now. My record vehicle-in-the-ditch count is 73.

That's kinda like saying listening to music on headphones makes a root canal so much easier, but yeah, it certainly helps the miles fly by.
Slingbox even works, which is pretty cool.
