And they drive what some might be consider "wussy" cars, by and large. One guy in particular, who is a retired SF guy, and a man-mountain, drives a Citroen 2CV "Duck". I believe the color is Raspberry, but I'd call it "dark pink."
And Jeep Liberties are very popular as well, despite their reputation as being "effeminate" or "gender non-specific" cars. The fact is, they are awesome cars, that are decent on mpg, for 4x4s.
I don't know anyone who would challenge their virility over what they drive. In fact, frankly, I'd be afraid to. Don't ask, don't tell has really gotten out of hand...
KIDDING people, kidding. The other comment was not really necessary either but it was kind of funny.
I will be having a similar dilemma this fall when I go to get a family mobile van. I would like to get a toyota or honda because of their reliability but am not sure I can swallow the prices. Any opinions on minivans out there?
Nothing to see here mods. Keep moving. -

I also have a 17 year, that we need to get a vechile for, and a 14 year old, that will be right behind.
Obvisouly, you don't have kids :)

Re: Honda CR-V or Pontiac Vibe?
We bought a new Toyota Matrix back in 2006 and we love it to this day. It gets about 32 mpg and handles beautifully in snow and ice due to the low center of gravity. We traded in a Ford Escape for it (obviously paid more too) and we don't regret it one bit. When it snows, I actually like driving the Matrix more than I do the big V8 Dodge Dakota that we have.
The Vibe and Matrix are the same for the most part. Toyota has leased the design to Pontiac and they built them on the same line in a joint plant. The Toyota can be just as cheap as the Vibe and the service at Toyota of DSM has been stellar for us. I used to have a Grand Am and will never buy another Pontiac but would recommend Toyotas to anybody and their dog.
A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player. -

We shopped in the fall of 07 and narrowed down to the Honda and Toyota. We went with Honda and no regrets. It's a great van that handles like a car, get's decent mileage(18 Town 26 Hwy) and swallows a ton of family. Great crash test ratings, reliability and resale values.
My suggestion is to shop around and find one you like. The new Chryslers have made a lot of improvements since we looked at them. It's a lot of money, but it's a vehicle you'll use a lot with a family. We only wanted to buy one once.

The interior of both and exterior styling of the Pontiac were done by GM. The Vibe is assembled at the NUMMI facility in California and the Matrix is assembled in Canada.

The NUMMI plant also assembles the Toyota Corolla and Toyota Tacoma.
