Ah yes the powerwashing lady.

Pretty screwed up, indeed.

Few people realize how dangerous this is and not just to children. A high pressure spray held close enough to the skin can actually cause "injection injury"-- where the stream can actually penetrate the skin and into your blood vessels. Not good.

Re: this is wrong no matter what the reason

I heard something this morning on the CNN news that was just as disturbing. In Virginia, they just passed a law forbidding men to french kiss girls under the age of 12.

Why in the hell do they need to pass a law about that. If I catch a guy french kissing one of my daughters before she's twelve and he is going to worry about a lot more then me calling the authorities. It would be a 3 hit fight........

I'd hit his sorry butt!
He'd hit the ground!
The ambulance would hit 90 coming to pick up his sorry perv little butt.

I will try and find a link.... found one......

The commentator is an idiot...

This lady who sprayed her kid is an idiot too. The girl looked like maybe 4... kids that age have tantrums, there really isn't much you can do about it.

Re: this is wrong no matter what the reason

My first question: Is she spraying holding down the trigger?

My second question: What is that woman doing in the car wash before the mom came running in there?

If she is spraying while holding down the trigger that is just despicable. I hope she gets thrown to the wolves.

To be the devils advocate, it looks to me like the little girl was spraying some other woman in the car wash before the mom came running in there. But of course we only see the part with the mom disciplining the child because that is more entertaining/controversial for the viewers. If she isn't holding down the trigger all she is doing is getting the child wet with that soft spray that comes out of the hose. If that's the case, it's more of a bad judgement call than abuse in my book. I'm sure my mother and many of yours, if videotaped would've looked bad to the rest of the world while disciplining me.

I for one will not judge this woman, who turned herself in and has yet to be charged with anything yet, until I can see the whole video or actually hear what happened on that day.

"If you can't hear me, it's because I'm in parentheses."

I got a bad hand infection back in 2004, for accidentally hitting myself with a pressure washer and injecting septic water into my hand.

That stuff stinks.

I'm not a big fan of child abuse. I've found that skilled parenting works.
