Just wondering if there are any other CF'ers going to see Springsteen this Friday in Omaha? I've been a long time fan but have never seen him live, I can't wait! My wonderful wife gave me tickets as a Xmas present, God bless her. We are staying at the Doubletree downtown and should be able to walk to the Qwest Center. Anyone have some good ideas on a pre-concert happy hour spot?

Rick's Boatyard is a good place to meet appetizers and drinks (also free parking if anyone has to drive) and they have a walkway to QWEST. Also any of the Old Market Pubs..too numerous to type.

I wish I could.
My daughter is a big Springsteen fan.
Every time we get in the car the last few weeks, I leave the radio off, intentionally...because I know that after a few minutes, she will say Dad, can we listen to The Boss?'
And I crack up without letting her see me laughing...
She loves Blinded By the Light, Thunder Road and Jungleland the Best.

I went to their show in St. Paul. It was awesome! He plays a lot off the new album, but I think that album is pretty good. Great encore with Thunder Road and Born to Run. I've always wanted to see the E-Street Band, and they rocked. If you want to see previous setlists, go to backstreets.com
I'd be going again in Omaha, but we're heading to KC for the Big XII tourney. As for places in Omaha, you will be pretty close to the Old Market. If you don't mind walking (and the weather is decent), the Old Market is a great place to bar hop. I like The Dubliner, Billy Frogs and Bario's. For food, M's Pub is really good, the Upstream Brewery is good too. There's also a Famous Daves and an Old Chicago down there. All of those places have websites you can google.

Saw this tour in Chicago (night 1) and St Paul! Loved both of them! The setlists seem to be very strong since the tour started another leg last week! I think I might run up to St Paul Sunday to catch the show...Springsteen live is an awesome experience! Here is a great Springsteen site to get info from: Backstreets.com: The Boss Website

I have tickets for Sunday's show in St. Paul and can't wait. This will be the 4th time seeing Bruce and it's one hell of show! I've been checking Backstreets.com frequently to check out the setlists. He does play a lot of the new album but will sprinkle in classics throughout the show. Jon, your daughter has great taste as Thunder Road and Jungleland are my all time favorites!

Yeah, I love older songs like Thunder Road, Backstreets, Thundercrack and Drive All Night, but I like some of the newer stuff too...Waitin on a Sunny Day and Lonesome Day are great songs. Long Walk Home and I'll Work For Your Love are good songs off of the new album too.
I've been listening to the Springsteen channel on Sirius. The live shows are awesome!

You could go to Farrell's sports bar at 10th and Dodge. It's a block south of the Qwest Center Farrells Elite Sports Bar - 902 Dodge Street

Thanks all for the great ideas. I've been watching some YouTube videos of the tour so far and the band sounds great (as good as they can sound in a YouTube video anyway). I hope the Omaha crowd is into it as much as some of the concert videos I've seen. I would post the links here but they keep getting taken down for terms of use violations
