I haven't heard of this "herb", but evidently many others have. The herb that goes by the name salvia divinorum has already been banned by 8 states and many others are looking into it.
Based on the picture of the "amateur botanist" (gotta love that title, wonder if he puts that on his business cards) in the story, I think I'll steer clear.
My question after reading this - is there a process that a weed goes through to become classified as an herb? Any non-amateur botanists out there that can answer that for me?
