So you can still smoke in bars...

Yeah, I seen that. Why would Iowa Veterans Home be an exemption too? That's kind of odd. Might as well add Joe Smoe's house an exemption too.

Because most vets smoke, and do you want to be the one to tell them they can't after fighting for our country. Let en do what they want in their club. |

Wasted opportunity. Either ban it all together or don't even try.

Ill take the smoking in bars over smoking in restaraunts any day. I would love to have it banned everywhere, but I will take this as a small victory.

This is stupid. Bars and restaurants or don't even bother. I could care less about what happens at the veterans home or casinos but restaurants AND bars must be a part of this.

What is going stink about this is the restaurant/sports bar owners are going to get reamed. Places like Legends, maybe Applebees, Tavern, Felix&Oscars, Orlondos and such - where they sell food but probably really make their bucks off the bar business. Kinda makes an unlevel playing field for them since I gather they won't be able to allow smoking.
Alot of people didn't like this ban under the premise that it doesn't give the right of decision to the owner - maybe rightfully so.
But IMO, this is even worse.

So what about a bar/grill? Are those 100% smoke free? As long as someone can be in the building that is under 21, there is no smoking?

indoors (except the indian casinos), I gotta tell you its wonderful. No sore throat, no stinked up clothes and the smokers all smoke just the same, just out on the porch.

My guess is at a certain hour, say 10 pm, under 21 would no longer be allowed in the establishment, then the owners could allow smoking at that point.

So if you don't like the places where smoking is allowed then don't freakin go there. It's really simple.
