Computer fans
One of the fans on my PC is making a horrible noise. Sounds like it's continuously out of balance or going bad. Even a good smack doesn't fix it anymore. Any ideas on where to purchase new ones?

I opened the thread like, "Hey, I'm a computer fan!". Little disappointed.

If you're worried about noise, check this out. Recommended Fans | silentpcreview.com
I've bought some Nexus fans and they are silent. Just make sure to get the right size.

Re: Computer fans
If you and looking for quality computer parts Tiger Direct is also a good place to start looking. Very cheap and good quality! A new fan shouldn't be very expensive. Usually loud fan noise comes from dust gathering on the blades and throwing them out of balance, a good shot of air usually works.

Re: Computer fans
Might want to open the case. It could be the main cooling fan. But it might also be a fan on the video card. I have had several of our workstations that have nice video cards that have fans on them go bad. Sometimes it is hard to tell where the racket is coming from without opening the case.

I saw the thread and did the wave. Good thing I was alone, or it would have looked really dorky.
