Indoor Spider/Insect Killer and Repeller
I am looking for suggestions for our unfinished basement. Setting up my studio and I'd like to get something that will kill and hopefully repel the spiders and insect. Certainly not bad at all - but have a few. I wouldn't care one bit if I didn't have future customers down there.
Whatever the treatment is, I'd like it to not be too harmful to humans, have much of a smell - or if that's not possible - at least a smell that goes away very quickly.

We use Ortho Home Defense all of the time. It's great about keeping bugs out of the house. Spray on the inside or outside of the house.

What kinda bugs do you have? Just the normal spiders? Or something more sinister down there?

Nothing bad at all, I'd guess far cleaner than your usual basement as it's just one year old and we're down here often using our workout equipment.
But we do have a few spiders, cobwebs, etc. Just want to get rid of 'em. Kids, models and the like usually are not too fond of such creatures.

We had "foot spiders" (my panicked name for house centipedes) at our old apartment, and this killed them all. It was safe with our pet, too.

For spiders, I just leave them. For some reason spiders never bothered me. Now those hairy centipedes with zillions of legs. Silverfish and Firebrats | Iowa Insect Information Notes
Those are the things I HATE!

Hah, Angie, you and I have the same feelings about those. Those centipedes are horrible. I have seen one in our house in the 12 years we have lived here. I wanted to just burn the place down and move to a new house. If we ever get roaches, that is what I am doing.

I'm getting creeped out just remembering them. I love that our new place seems to be immune, too. EW - roaches would freak me out, too. -

We get this nasty looking things in our basement...I guess they live in the large bark mulch the owners before us put in around the house. Removing that stuff is job numero uno during the spring clean this year.
And we have the sliverfish too because the earwigs die once inside and it gets cold in the basement. Great thread I'm getting all kinds of great idea's for spring cleaning.

If you want to go organic, hedge balls are suppose to keep the bugs away by producing an odor bugs can smell but humans cant not.
