    OT-American Idol

I watch this show with my wife and kids. It's pretty good family entertainment. No nudity or none of that. I have to say the last 2 weeks of them killing Beatles songs is hard to take. I have no idea why they would make a bunch of Teens re-arrange a classic Beatles song and expect it to sound any good at all. Sorry just hat when people try to redo The classics like The Who, The Beatles, and Elvis.

Last night to me was horrible, last week wasn't that bad. I personally don't think they should have done the beatles theme two weeks in a row.

Using the Beatles songs is also really going back into time. Next week it might be Elvis Presley and Jailhouse Rock.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.

Kind of unfair to whoever gets voted off really. Bad idea I do agree.

The other problem is I don't think any of them have a clue about Beatles songs. There were so many songs they did not sing that were way better than the songs they did sing.

    Re: OT-American Idol

Last week was definitley better than this week. I cringed last week when Ryan announced due to popular demand they would repeat the Beatles again this week. Maybe Paul knew the divorce settlement would be done between shows and wanted to inspire sales of Beatles CD's so the royalty payments would ease his 48 million dollar loss, so he joined up with his fellow countryman Simon and there was a power play involved.

    Things I don't get:

    - Why the judges love David Archuletta so much. I thought his song last night was boring. I never heard it before and never want to hear it again.

    - Why Simon ripped on David Cook last night after praising him last week. Cook probably has the best chance of anyone to sell records. He reminds me a lot of Chris Daughtry.

    - Why the songs are all less than 2 minutes long. It was a 120 minute show with only 18 minutes of singing. If they really want to find the best singer, let them sing the whole song.

I agree - they could have a lot less of the corny banter between the judges and Ryan. Use the extra time for more singing.

What was up with the advertising of the I-phone last night?

As Paula would say, I agree 100 million percent.

He's good, but that stupid smug look on his face when he sings has to go.

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life:
The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves Orcs. ~ John Rogers

I agree when Simon said he thinks he's better than he is. He was fine, but not great. Last night was so bad I found myself browsing over to watch Shannon Elizabeth on Dancing with the Stars. God you'd think with 3,522 cable channels I could find something better to watch... No basketball.. no football... I guess I could watch Arena League, but it just isn't the same without Willis Jacox.

Why is Paula Abdul still a "judge"? I've never heard her say anything the least bit judging. Although I always know someone did really bad when Paula can only compliment them on how they look. I wish I could program my Tivo to fast forward whenever she talks.

Why is Amanda Overmeyer still there?!?!?!?! She is the most god awful "singer" I've heard in awhile. And to top it all off she looks like trash.

I like the rock kid. He does however act like he is the man. The last two songs he litterally stole the first Beatles song arrangement from a Seattle band. Last night he did give Whitesnake props for that arrangement.

This is all I could think of when he said that:

An here I go again on my own
Goin down the only road Ive ever known,
Like a hobo* I was born to walk alone
An Ive made up my mind
I aint wasting no more time

    But, here I go again,
    Here I go again,
    Here I go again,
    Here I go...

    Re: OT-American Idol

She does do a good Janis Joplin, but that is is. Nothing else. She can't sing normal at all. I agree, she needs to go, but by popular demand she still remains!

My favorite would be Brooke. Cook is good, but even his stuff gets old. Archeleta(?) is just too childish too me still. The austrialian is good, but again he is too one dimension. If he found his nitch, he could do well. Light my Fire by him was actually pretty good.

    See Vote for the Worst

As far as I'm concerned, any theme that prevents 2 hours of Barry Manilow or Whitney is great. I'm forced to watch because my wife is hooked and the Beatles nights were more bearable than some.

David Archuleta and the pantywaste in dreads are the 2 I'd like to see gone next.
