Do you like rock bands with chick singers? How about punk?
Re: Looking for new music
Pick up Sirius or XM and start scanning the channels. I love the Springsteen channel on Sirius, but I also listen to Alt Nation and the Coffeehouse (singer/songwriters and acoustic)
Re: Looking for new music
How about Christian rock at the fair?
Re: Looking for new music
Try these:
Puddle of Mudd, Nickelback, Nirvana (ok, not so new), System of a Down, Tool
Re: Looking for new music
Check out Angels and Airwaves latest, I-Empire. Very good.
The Nadas have a new CD out as well.
Re: Looking for new music
How about Dancing Machine?

Don't like:
New Country (i.e. - pop music with a cowboy hat)
Pop
Hip-hop
Hard-core rap
Jazz - i've tried to like it but i just can't
New(er) music I'm Currently listening to:
Seether
Breaking Benjamin
Foo Fighters
Chevelle
Rise Against
Older favourites
Metallica (pre-90s) - actually, most 80's "metal"
Jane's Addiction
any "classical" - don't know much about it but it's great to listen to while working
Seeing that you like Seether and Breaking Benjamin I'd also check out Three Days Grace and Puddle of Mudd as they're similar in style. Foo Fighters and Chevelle kind of stand on their own.
Some things on my iPod that I enjoy listening to (and I won't go into the Christian albums as that seems to be turning into a heated topic in another thread) that you might like would include A Perfect Circle, My Chemical Romance, Velvet Revolver, The White Stripes, and Tool

Puddle of Mudd and Nickelback are exactly what is wrong with music today. Absolutely the most horrible crap I have ever heard. Play one song, you've heard them all.
Re: Looking for new music
some of my more recent fav's..... Arcade Fire, Muse, the Shins, Rilo Kiley... I'm sure you know, but you can sample snippets of songs from anyone on amazon.com... if you like blues/folk rock, try Iowa's own Greg Brown....

System of a Down might be a little "out there" as it doesn't seem to jibe with the examples put out there (although I do like listening to them on occasion).
