Looking for new music
I don't listen to the radio much so it's kinda hard for me to find new music. So, anyone have suggestions? I like a lot of different kinds of music. Don't like:
New Country (i.e. - pop music with a cowboy hat)
Pop
Hip-hop
Hard-core rap
Jazz - i've tried to like it but i just can't New(er) music I'm Currently listening to:
Seether
Breaking Benjamin
Foo Fighters
Chevelle
Rise Against Older favourites Metallica (pre-90s) - actually, most 80's "metal"
Jane's Addiction
any "classical" - don't know much about it but it's great to listen to while working

Re: Looking for new music
Pick up Sirius or XM and start scanning the channels. I love the Springsteen channel on Sirius, but I also listen to Alt Nation and the Coffeehouse (singer/songwriters and acoustic)

Some things on my iPod that I enjoy listening to (and I won't go into the Christian albums as that seems to be turning into a heated topic in another thread) that you might like would include A Perfect Circle, My Chemical Romance, Velvet Revolver, The White Stripes, and Tool

Re: Looking for new music
some of my more recent fav's..... Arcade Fire, Muse, the Shins, Rilo Kiley... I'm sure you know, but you can sample snippets of songs from anyone on amazon.com... if you like blues/folk rock, try Iowa's own Greg Brown....
I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.
