How should athletes be treated that use illegal steroids?
New research shows that athletes who'd stopped taking steriods looked remarkably similar to those of the subjects who were still using. They also had larger muscle fibers and more growth-inducing "myonuclei" in their muscle cells than the nonsteroid users.
Although there is no way to conclusively prove that athletes are benefiting from prior steroid use the question remains, "how would they really have been that good had they never used?"
If steroid use results in lifelong improvements in an athletes performance should the cheaters receive a lifetime ban?

That raises some tough questions. Hopefully they get at least part of their reward with shrunken testicles.
