Re: Any motorcycle people?
I've got an '02 Suzuki Bandit 1200S, kind of along the same lines as the FZ1 people were talking about earlier. The Bandit has a more upright seating position than a full on crotch rocket, but still has waayyy more get-up than I need 99% of the time. The S version has a small fairing and windshield that do a pretty good job of blocking the wind. I also bought saddlebags, a tailbag, handlebar risers, and a laminar lip for the windshield for long trips. It has been reliable and an absolute blast, so give it a look.

Re: Any motorcycle people?
This was the last Sport Bike I owned. I had 3 great years on it. I had a tear in my eye the day I sold it. I put 20,000 great miles on it. It was comfortable for any trip (thanks to the corbin seat). The longest day trip I did on it was 625 miles, and I was just fine.
I have another 9 months till I am back in the wind.

Thanks, I am just as anal about my lawn as I was that bike. I had to sell it 2 years ago because we were building a house and wanted to have a second child. The bike helped with the down payment. It still looked new after 20,000 miles. Lucky for me the wife loves to ride and misses the bike. So convincing her to go shopping for a new one was not too tough.

I have another 9 months till I am back in the wind. My last sportbike was a CBR600 and I loved it but I'm too old now for that position.

Re: Any motorcycle people?
I've got a custom built 98 Softtail and an 04 Electra Glide. I can't imagine riding a crotch rocket.

Re: Any motorcycle people?
Ive got an 07 CBR1000rr. If the SV650 didnt have enough punch for you, the SV1000 might, or you could try a Ducati XB9 or any other Ducati for that matter

Re: Any motorcycle people?
I sold my last Harley and kinda keeping an eye on them at the local dealership but truthfully I'm seriously considering a Big Bear softail Merc. I was really hoping to hook up before the next Bikes, Blues, & BBQ but I want to pay cash and avoid payments and with everything being so expensive the timing's just not right at the moment. Most likely I'll pull the trigger in about a year (the itch to ride will be more than I can bear). -

Re: Any motorcycle people?
I may go ride the SV650 next week when it warms up. I can get an older model for around $3000.

Re: Any motorcycle people?
I have a Yamaha 650 Classic its a great starter bike and nice for leisurely cruising, but I have always been a fan of the newer Triumphs. The Street triple and the Daytona 675 have both gotten good reviews. I always wanted a speed four but they stopped production a few years ago and no one is selling them used. I have ridden a Ducati (749s) and I will admit they are smooth and the mechanicals work great. It was a friends bike and got stolen because it is a Ducati.

The local dealer has a sweet Ducati 748 but I'm too old for it's seating position. The street triples are very cool but are hard to find right now. The Daytona 675 sits like the Ducati.

The big question is, high pipes or low pipes. The Iles of Man bikes had high pipes.
