You should check out the Russian market. Much better deals.

I would have kept it. Keep the cash at home and slowly spend it and no one would be the wiser.

I would not know what to do. I would probably keep it for a few weeks and then I would probably feel guilty and turn $130,000 over to them. Yeah 130,000. I would give myself a 10k finders fee.

Re: What should be the reward for turning in a pile of money to the police?

I was at Prairie Meadows a couple months ago playing the PowerBall progressive slots and I was sitting next to some girl who had just turned 21. She was hitting big money like crazy and in about 15 minutes she was up to 1478 dollars. Well she's like i'm done, and she cashed out, well the machine only printed a ticket for 1100 dollars and she booked it. I saw that there was money left in the machine, and it was very tempting to take it, I leaned the chair forward and looked around the casino for 45 minutes til I found her and let her know that she still had almost 400 left in the machine at the time. She didn't even know she had that left...It was one of those things where you feel good about doing what you did.

Re: What should be the reward for turning in a pile of money to the police?

I just got back from Crete. While at a food stand, I dropped EUR $300 (about $500) on the ground when getting out some coins to pay for my purchase.

A Cretan kid of about 15 years of age hunted me down for 3 blocks to give it to me, then took off before I could give him a EUR 50 as a reward. The old lady standing there was disgusted that I'd give him a reward for going out of his way to do the right thing, because it implicated that decency could be purchased on Crete.

I could tell you how much I love that island for days....

thats a good guy right there
Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

Yeah......but the problem for me would be the constant fear of the FBI kicking down my door at any time. Even as unlikely as it would be that they would figure out who had the cash, it'd still be in the back of my mind at all times.

The guy did the right thing. He turned the money in. And a reward isn't necessary and the $2,000 is a very nice reward. On the flip side, the Board of Directors will now probably give the CEO of the bank a $10,000 bonus because the money was found and the CEO saved them a 10% finders fee. That is the part that gets frustrating.
