What should be the reward for turning in a pile of money to the police?
A man found $140,000.
He turned the cash into the police.
He received a $2,000 reward.
His mom said that he should have gotten a $14,000 reward.

10% seems fair, but IMO he isn't entitled to anything. Good for him for turning it in, though! Mom, calm down.

He should be happy he got $2,000. What a greedy bastard. You need a 10% tip to do the right thing now? I guess next time someone leaves their wallet at the cash register I should just reach in and grab out 10% before I give it back to them.

Mom needs to shut up. Be happy he got anything and be proud of what he did.

Just shows our society these days...everybody expects something for nothing. Turning in the money was/is the right thing to do. You shouldn't need a reward for doing the right thing.

Honestly, I probably wouldn't turn it in if it had Bank of America plastered all over the side. That's why they have insurance.

IF he was greedy he would have kept it.
I for one would have kept the money unless it was planted infront a secruity camera. Would have sat on that money for good long time. Nights out and groceries would all be paid with cash.

If I found it I would give it to charity. I would call up the ISU AD and make a donation.......

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that. ~ George Carlin
There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves Orcs. ~ John Rogers -

Look on the bright side, that is $2000 you did not have before. Not every good deed gets rewarded, just be thankful you got something instead of nothing.

I'd be alright with it. Have you ever been charged 2 bucks for using the "wrong" ATM.

If the insurance premium is increased I suspect that shareholders of B of A would theortically be impacted more than the customer base.
If the insurance premium doesn't increase, the insurance company shareholders take the hit.
If the claim causes insurance rates in general to increase, people that need this type of insurance are impacted.

In all honesty, I'd probably do the same. Yes, I'm a bad person.
