I just can't wait to watch Olympic swimming this summer...

Isn't it amazing? Here the wrestlers spend all their lives training for a hope of one Olympic medal and yet you got swimmers that can come home with as many as 8 medals from a single Olympics.

Please enjoy their post-event interviews too where they will get upset that they won 7 instead of 8 medals.

Please don't be offended if you are a swimmer. I am just saying that I wish all the hard work wrestlers put in would net them as many medals as other athletes get.

For example, in 2004 Michael Phelps completely dominated his sport and brought home 8 medals. Cael, also dominated his sport, one medal. Dan Gable, doesn't give up a single point in the 72 Games... one medal.

Didn't Olympic wrestling used to have two events; Greco-Roman and 'Freestyle' ? Does the US have any hotties on the woman's swim team - that'll get me watching.

Maybe they should try wrestling in multiple weight classes? Just eat a box of twinkies between matches or something.

I've worked as a timer at an All-Europe level event (my daughter placed 10th in her event, obtw...) and frankly, swimming is as exciting as any other event, especially when the top-level athletes coming thundering down on you in the timers' seat. They are just unbelieveably athletic and fast.

You could argue this point with any sport. The basketball teams play something around 10 games and get one medal. Swimming and track just have several different events. Personally, swimming is one of my favorite events to watch at the Olympics.

do u think they will ever add women's wrestling? It's kind of sexist that they don't have it now. Also, I wouldn't be upset if they were forced to start out wrestling in the mud or even jello just to get it kicked of.

Ummm, where've you been? Wrestling is now open to both sexes. I got to see a match last season where a high school sophomore female handed a junior male wrestler his veritable lunch in a first period pin at the local American school.

Or is this just a DODEA schools thing?

Oh, c'mon!!! It was a volunteer position. My wife and I have been timers for the last year and a half, which is, coincidentally exactly how long our daughter has been competitive in the Euro league.
