ISU Olympic Trainer

Sorry to brag... But my roommate, who is a fellow Cyclone and a trainer at 24 Hour Fitness, was just announced that he will be going to Beijing as an Olympic trainer. I am all sorts of pumped for him. We will have Cyclone representation at the Olympics.

Also, the new (and very popular and controversial) swimwear that was designed in part by an ISU professor.

Re: ISU Olympic Trainer

I'm not going to pretend to know much about swimming, but this quote got me a little curious:

"This is going down a very dangerous road," Castagnetti told the AP. "It removes the purely competitive aspect of the sport and puts outside factors into play. Swimming has always been based on ability. Now, there are other aspects. It's like technological doping. It's not in the spirit of the sport."

With this kind of logic, one would think this guy (the Italian coach) would be opposed to the use of swim caps and goggles, too. It just seems to me he's upset because his team isn't using these suits.

I don't think there is a way in hell we boycott. That'd be a strong statement to the largest army in the world.

I actually preferred this quote:

"It's good and stretchy"

Don't kid yourself, the only thing we may boycott is the opening ceremonies, which is going to show China that we're..... oh wait nevermind boycotting the OC's proves absolutely nothing

"I just back into town and I hear all this stuff, and Buster Olney is making my team up now and [Genske] wants to tell me who is going to pitch here. No one is going to tell us who to put on our team and no one on ESPN is going to tell us who should pitch for my team. " -Gardy
