Well it's almost that time of year. But with the weather that we've had so far this year, how will the crop of morels fare this year?
Any predictions?

I like to just bread them like fish and fry them in butter. They are also fantastic in lasagna.

We've got morels here but no way in hell am I wandering around in the timber with copperheads. Almost stepped on one in my driveway one night (within 6 inches wearing shorts and flip flops). He tossed out a warning strike but never connected thankfully.  | | | |

I saw some in my local Whole Foods Market recently and I could not believe how expensive they were.

Anyone been out and having luck? I unsuccessfully went out later last week and after the cold weekend weather I think it will still be a few more days until they start popping.
