Well it's almost that time of year. But with the weather that we've had so far this year, how will the crop of morels fare this year?
Any predictions?

My favorite meal of the year. Morels and crappie filets make a great feast.

Morels are delicious. Lots of them grow around my parent's farm.

I like to just bread them like fish and fry them in butter. They are also fantastic in lasagna.

We've got morels here but no way in hell am I wandering around in the timber with copperheads. Almost stepped on one in my driveway one night (within 6 inches wearing shorts and flip flops). He tossed out a warning strike but never connected thankfully. | | |

Can morels hunting be a recruiting tool?

Anyone been out and having luck? I unsuccessfully went out later last week and after the cold weekend weather I think it will still be a few more days until they start popping.
