I am looking for a good used vechile for my son, and started looking at Craiglist. I have never bought anything from them, has anybody had any experience with them?
I am looking to spend between $1,500 & $3000. We test drove one and took it to our mechanic, and he told me it would another $2500 to fix it up. It was the best $40.00 I spent.
If you are buying local it is no different then buying from the newspaper classifieds. I sell and buy stuff on it all the time
Yes, I have used it multiple times for buying and selling. I highly recommend it.
Just be a smart buyer and do your homework.
Does it bug anyone else when people don't post pictures of what they are selling on craigslist? I just bought a pontoon boat off of craigslist and couldn't believe how many people didn't have pictures of their boats posted ... end of rant
idk about craiglist, but in general I would NEVER buy anything online that didn't have some pix. (that was a pretty short rant as far as CF is concerned Cydaddy.) :)

I have bought a ton of stuff from ads on craigslist. It is great. There are scammers though, so basically just treat it like a classified ad in the paper. Only deal locally, and don't do anything stupid like pay in advance or give out any information or anything.
I've sold a car on craigslist, went quick no problems (but I should priced it higher based on the volume of replies).
When we bought I used Autotrader.com to filter out some vehicles, and it works pretty well to compare local lots if you have a particular model or two in mind.
