That was a season that turned me off the show as well. Some of the better singers got booted when it got down to the final 4 or 5 I think and it was obvious the judges were pulling for Fantasia the whole season. The final was what really irked me because Diana hands down had the best night and the judges were hardly giving her much compliments while Fantasia stunk and on the final song which they both had to sing Simon said that it was her "acceptance speech." If I remember it was one of the closest final votes right?
If anyone watched Gone Country on CMT Diana should have won that too but John Rich (the Rich in Big & Rich) for some reason picked Julio Inglesis Jr. because he was trying to draw in the Hispanic crowd. Funny thing is I've read rumors that he still has signed Diana so he's not going to let someone else take credit if she makes it in country. Here's the song she did for Gone Country:
