I totally agree with this and this is why someone like Taylor Hicks could beat out the best talent in the history of AI Chris Daughtry.

I think the last 2 seasons have really been lacking in any kind of talent. Blake and Jordin were both pretty brutal IMO and there's really no one this year that I can see making it big.

Anyone watch Rock the Cradle on MTV? Outside of Dee Snider's son and Joe Walsh's daughter they are all just beyond horrible. Bobby Brown's son is so tone deaf. Really funny but I don't think it's meant to be.

I don't care what you guys say, but I really enjoy American Idol. I think it shows the world what is best about America...that anyone can become a big star and make tons of money, because really that's what it's all about. Personally, I think the little dude with the creepy eyes and gorgeous hair will win this year.

I just found out the other day that Bucky Covington was on American Idol, he has a pretty good little career going... Did I hear right that Taylor Swift got eliminated early one year on AI? If she did that was probably the biggest mistake they ever made...

Considering AI has virtually no control of who gets voted off week by week I'd say they view it as the biggest mistake the fans ever made.

No, someone told me she didn't even make it to LA, they booted her at a tryout...

That show is a total train wreck. Which is exactly why I watch it.

Blake last year had quite a bit of musical talent IMO. He did some pretty funky stuff with the arrangements last year.

    Re: American Idol

Blake was very talented. I wasn't a huge fan of him but I loved his music and talents. It's not that I didn't like the guy, I just didn't take to his personality as others did.

And I agree, I can't stand Paula. She loves everyone, they all did great, they're all talented, etc, etc. No spine and her new video just creeps me out. She's my least favorite "judge", followed by Randy and his repeating of the same words again and again. At first I despised Simon and his tactics - but I appreciate him more now.

And, often times he's right - unlike the other two.

    Re: American Idol

Why is it that this year when people forget their lyrics, the judges are acting like its no big deal, whereas in past years, they absolutely crucified contestants for forgetting lyrics. I think it is because they love David A. and Brooke, so don't want to "rock the boat". Except that Paula did tell Brooke you can't start and stop. And I also think they should have cut Brooke off towards the end or her song, as with the starting and stopping and starting again, she got more time than other contestants.

You are 100% right. They have killed 'em for that in the past. The judging has always been a bit inconsistent, this season is no different.

Like the fans/voters, the judges clearly have their favorites.
