I just got back from the Barnstormers game (well, the game and then a couple bars) and what a good time! This team has been improving every week so far, and they are looking good! I may not miss another home game this season, and I'm considering season tickets next year!
I was a little disappointed it wasn't on Cybookie though...

I went to the game last night as well and had a great time, even though we were in the very top row of the upper-most deck. Could still see pretty well but will try to get tickets earlier next time.
Lots of penalties called during the game. I'm still trying to figure out the rules of the game a little bit, especially the "illegal defense" calls.

Yeah we went last night too, next to last row in the upper deck but its way better than a Stars or Energy game. I think the Barnstormers will do just fine here. Gotta love that #35 McLemore guy that is always jumping around and getting the crowd going.

We all remember making fun of our little brother. And then that day came when you looked at him and thought "Crap, when did he become taller than me?" There comes a time when you just know your time has passed and it's their spotlight now.

I went to the game, and basically felt the same way as everyone else here. About the most entertaining $12 I've spent in DSM in awhile, and you gotta love the energy in there. This team keeps playing this well, and they might have to open every last seat in the house there.

I'll order up another shot of sin, I'm running twice as hard into the wind, I'll hitch a ride when the next one comes in, fell off the wagon again...

Stormers won 47-24. Led 27-24 with 13:00 to play. Berryman had 2 sacks and 2 forced fumbles in the 4th quarter. Announced attendance was 10,454 -- and that seemed pretty accurate.
Last night was also MY first Arena game. It's waaaaay more entertaining in person than it is on TV. Of course, when the home team played as well as they did, that makes it a lot more fun.

Hate to give an Iowa player props but Tim Dodge had a nice game. Coming in as a defensive replacement when the 1 guy got hurt his first play is an interception for a TD.
Crowd was good, if they can average 8-10k for AF2 and continue that or improve on it they'll be fine.

Hands down the best time I've had at WFA. I have a feeling that this is going to be huge.
For the fellow CFers who plan on making a game this year, please make sure to get some Cyclone duds on when you are there to represent. Wow. I felt like I was in Coralville last night.

Definitely a lot of Hawks out, but I saw enough Clones to feel comfortable. I was wearing my faded ISU shirt with the throwback helmet on it, and several people (especially old timers) complimented me on it. Too bad none of them had their State gear on though.

I wore my clone gear last night, including my new Nike I-State cap. | |
