This was Iowa
In my formulative years Iowa State was ISC although they did reach University status or ISU by the time I attended.
Iowa, however, was known as the State University of Iowa or SUI which I still find ever so much more appropriate. I think revisionist historians have struck again.
 Children will grow up to be,
not what they are told but what they see.

Great catch! So, they were SUI, as in SOOOOO-EEEEEEEY!!!!
As in, what you yell to call hogs, or UofI cheerleaders???
